Frequently Asked Questions
❓ Do you take insurance?
I do not accept insurance and am currently an Out-of-Network provider. However, many insurance plans offer partial reimbursement for therapy with an out-of-network therapist.
If you'd like to pursue reimbursement, I’m happy to provide a Superbill (a detailed receipt of services and payments), which you can submit to your insurance provider. Please note that reimbursement policies vary, so it’s best to contact your insurance company directly to understand your specific benefits.
🧭 What can I expect in the first session?
Our first session is a chance for me to get to know you—your background, what’s been coming up for you, and what you hope to get out of therapy. I’ll ask some questions to understand your experiences, and you’re welcome to go at your own pace. There’s no pressure to share everything right away. My goal is to create a space where you feel seen, safe, and not judged.
⏳ How long and how often will I need therapy?
Sessions are 50 minutes long. Many clients begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and trust. Over time, we may move to every other week depending on your needs and goals. The length of therapy varies—some people work on a few specific concerns over a few months, while others benefit from longer-term support. We’ll decide together what’s best for you.
🧘🏽♀️ I’m not sure if my issues are “serious enough” for therapy. Can I still come?
Yes—absolutely. You do not need a diagnosis, crisis, or a clear label for what you’re experiencing. Many of my clients come in feeling like “something just isn’t right” with food, body image, anxiety, or self-worth. If you’ve been silently struggling, feeling overwhelmed, or stuck in survival mode, therapy can help.
🧩 What if I’ve tried therapy before and it didn’t help?
That’s completely valid—and unfortunately, a common experience. Not all therapy (or therapists) are the right fit. My approach is collaborative, non-judgmental, and rooted in your lived experience. If you're feeling unsure, let’s talk about what you need and what didn’t work for you in the past. You deserve support that actually feels supportive.
🌍 Do you offer virtual or in-person sessions?
Yes! I offer both:
Virtual therapy for adults located anywhere in Washington State
In-person therapy in Thurston County, WA, or surrounding areas
You’re welcome to choose the format that feels most comfortable or convenient for you.
📞 How do I get started?
Whether you’re exploring therapy for the first time or ready to dive in, I offer a free 20-minute phone consultation. It’s a low-pressure way for us to connect, talk about what’s bringing you in, and see if we’re a good fit.
If I’m not available to work with you, I’ll either offer you a spot on my waitlist or connect you with trusted referrals.
🧒 Do you work with children or teens?
I currently work with adults (18+) located in Washington State. If you’re looking for a therapist for a child or teen, I’m happy to share referrals to providers who specialize in working with youth. Just reach out—I'm glad to help.
📝 What is a Good Faith Estimate?
Under federal law, all health care providers are required to give clients who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected cost of services.
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for any non-emergency services you schedule. This estimate outlines the anticipated cost of care and must be provided at least one business day before your appointment.
If you receive a bill that is $400 or more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the charges.

💸 What are your fees?
Therapy is private pay. My current fee is $200 per session, and I offer sliding scale options based on availability and need. We’ll discuss your rate during your free consultation and find something that works for you if possible.
🔐 Is what I share in therapy confidential?
Yes. Your privacy is extremely important to me. Everything you share is kept confidential, with a few legal exceptions (such as safety concerns or court orders). I’ll go over all of this in more detail before we begin so you feel informed and protected.
